A Day to Remember, 311, Bad Religion + More: 2019 Vans Warped Tour
Happy 25th anniversary Vans Warped Tour! It was a day of celebration Saturday (June 29), as a number of Warped alumni returned to pay tribute to the “punk rock summer camp” that helped launch many a career. Music fans flocked to Atlantic City’s beachfront to take in a day of music, sports and great fun while marking the festival’s silver anniversary year.
Sitting atop the bill were such acts as A Day to Remember, 311 and Bad Religion. A Day to Remember stuck to the hits during their 12-song set, rocking through such standouts as “Right Back at It Again,” “Paranoia,” “All I Want” and the set-closing “The Downfall of Us All.”
311 played an abbreviated set, while suffering a few technical difficulties. However, they took things back to the early days with the opening favorite “Homebrew” and peppered their six-song set with classics like “All Mixed Up,” “Come Original” and “Down.”
Bad Religion got in one of the day’s longer sets, giving the fans a jolt of punk-infused energy and bite of both old and new favorites. “Lose Your Head” “Chaos From Within” and “My Sanity” sit perfectly in the band’s set next to “Stranger Than Fiction,” “New Dark Ages,” “21st Century Digital Boy,” “Infected” and other Bad Religion standards.
Good Charlotte, CKY, Andrew W.K., Glassjaw, MC Lars and more kept things rocking throughout the day, though weather did briefly interrupt the fun as fans had to evacuate the beach for a fast approach thunderstorm before resuming the festivities.
The fun continues today (June 30) with Blink-182, Andy Black, Atreyu, The Offspring, Circa Survive, Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, The Used and more playing.
