Have you found yourself too tired or too busy to workout? Tuscaloosa Track Club President, Ed Freeman shares tips to help you stay on track, as we go Inside Tuscaloosa Running!

It can be so tempting to just put off running, Ed says the best way to fight this, "have a plan." He used the adage, "if you fail to plan, plan to fail." It's important to have a workout plan, and stick to it.

You will also find it much easier to stay motivated, if you have fun! Mix things up, run with your dog, or explore a different neighborhood.

Ed shared a funny story about running in a different neighborhood and seeing a group of kids. The smallest child didn't think Ed was running very fast. Then, an older kid replied, "oh- he's a jogger."  The point being, that's not a bad thing. The sport of running isn't just about how fast your are. There are many other factors which may motivate you, like losing weight, adding structure to your life or help with self-image.

Still feeling a little bored running, make it more social!  Sure, call up a friend or try a running group.

Take a look at the video below, as Ed and I talk about staying motivated running in this episode of Inside Tuscaloosa Running!
