Each week, there is always some kind of trigger to point me in a direction on who to spolight for our weekly flashback feature. The news of Bobby Brown backing out the New Edition reunion tour leads us to this week's spotlight.

Once upon a time, Bobby Brown was a part of the group known as New Edition. They became famous for hits such as, 'Candy Girl.' Bobby went solo and had even more success, including his biggest hit 'My Perogative.' Now, things have come full circle, for the guy who married to Whitney Houston, signing up for a New Edition reunion tour. Unforunately, that was short lived, as the singer backed out due to health reasons. He released a statement apologizing for withdrawing from the tour, saying, “I apologize to the fans of New Edition. I really wanted to be with my brothers, but presently I am unable to give the fans what they typically expect from New Edition.”

In video shared by TMZ of Bobby's last performance, he was seen winded and having trouble performing with the rest of the group.

We wish the best for Bobby Brown as we put his signature hit in the spotlight. The 1988 song "My Perogative" reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was Grammy nominated. You know you have a big song when other artists cover it, like Britney Spears did with this one in 2004.
