Welcome to a new season of Alabama Crimson Tide football! The first home game welcomes back to gameday fun and tailgating, and the lead song for all things Bama is "Sweet Home Alabama!"

Sure, there are lot of party songs to keep your tailgate moving, but clearly the adopted state anthem is a must among the Tide faithful!

The original recording from Southern rock band Lynryd Skynyrd dates back to 1974, and has since been covered by ANY band playing after the game on a Saturday night in Tuscaloosa! Also, through the years the chorus comes with a localized addition of yelling, "Roll Tide Roll!"

The Velcro Pygmies get bonus gold stars for taking the two and recording a cover of "Sweet Home Alabama" complete with the chant of "Roll Tide Roll!" The guys sent a copy of this epic creation a few years back, and we're playing it on the air to celebrate the game. Oddly, it's really hard to find video of this song online.

I did find a live version of Lynyrd Skynyrd with some on the crowd playing along with the Roll Tide chant.

Then, there is electric charge from a packed Bryant-Denny Stadium chanting Roll Tide.

If you love flashback songs from the 90s and 2K, after the game turn up the B101.7 Saturday Night Party! It's starts at 7 p.m. Saturday.
