Women’s March in Birmingham Draws Massive Crowd to the Magic City [VIDEO, PHOTOS]
Millions of people around the world participated in the Women's March yesterday, and over 5,000 showed up for the march in the Magic City alone.
The Women's March, held the day after President Trump's inauguration, was held in response to the sexism, racism, xenophobia, and misogyny displayed in Trump's campaign. The march, true to the beliefs of international feminism, focused on bringing attention to issues affecting not just women, but people of all races and sexual orientation.
The primary Women's March was held in Washington, DC; however, sister marches were held in cities throughout the nation--and the world. The march in Birmingham, Alabama drew a massive crowd. The Birmingham Police Department estimates that over 5,000 attended the march in the Magic City.
