Why Did Alabama Not Make this Best Barbecue List?
Who has the best barbecue in Alabama? I've heard about so much great food in the Yellowhammer state but I have yet to have that rib that knocks my socks off.
For now, we can table that debate because there is a much larger issue at hand. Do you think there is a city in Alabama that has top-tier BBQ? According to a recent tweet, Alabama doesn't have one city that can be placed in the top 10 for best BBQ in the nation. Look at this chart! Not one single city in Alabama listed.
Can you believe this? I have a few questions about how this was determined. I've been to Miami plenty of times and not once have I ever said "Let's go grab lunch from this great BBQ spot."
New Orleans?! New Jersey is even on the list. Alabamians, I'm not telling you how to feel, but I'd feel pretty disrespected after looking at this list. Even if by some stretch of the imagination, Alabama doesn't make the list, how is Tennesse, Texas, or Georgia not on the list? The worst part is that May is National Barbecue Month. How disrespectful!
I know you're probably thinking the same thing I'm thinking, "Who created this list?!"
The list was created by Chef's Pencil. According to their site, they analyzed TripAdvisor ratings of all BBQ joints in the nation’s top 75 largest cities and ranked the cities based on their average rating.
If you could place any city in Alabama on this list, which city would it be? Let me know in our chat feature on the app so I can go check them out!
