What’s For Dinner? My Mom’s Green Split Pea Slow Cooker Soup
What are you making for dinner tonight? Well, tonight I am having Bea’s, Green Goodness. It’s waiting for me in the crockpot. Who is Bea? My dear beloved mother and one thing you should know about her, my mother LOVED her slow cooker. Excuse me, her “Crock-Pot.” I remember like it was yesterday when she got her brand new name brand, slow cooker “Crock-Pot.” My mother didn’t care if she got presents for herself but loved gifts that help provide for her family. Here is an excellent example of my mother’s mindset; I remember the day she got a washer. Dad put a red bow on top, covered her eyes, and when she saw her gift, she cried. I know why she cried because she wouldn’t have to collect loose change, go to the laundry mat every week, and carry back wet clothes (we hung our clothes to save money). Another great thing about my mom is that she could feed our family on a budget. She was a coupon clipper as well. Who remembers double and triple coupon days? I would like to introduce you to my mother’s Green Split Pea soup; she named it “Bea’s Green Goodness.” She made it inexpensive. I hope you enjoy it!
