After missing his entire rookie season due to a shoulder injury, Jonah Williams has already begun to take advantage of his second opportunity as the starting left tackle of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Williams, the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has received heaps of praise for his pass blocking prowess despite the Bengals' offensive line struggling mightily as a whole. Through the first four weeks of the season, Williams has allowed 10 pressures and a sack, however, the past two weeks have been highlights to begin his career.

Against a young Jacksonville Jaguars pass rush featuring first-rounders K'Lavon Chaisson and Josh Allen, Williams walked away as Week 4's fifth highest-graded left tackle in terms of pass protection by Pro Football Focus.

Grading above 80 in each of his past two games, Williams now sits at a respectable 75.2 for his pass blocking efforts.

His run blocking needs some work according to PFF, which has him graded at a 55.8 for the season, but that isn't keeping Williams away from highlight reel blocks in the open field.

"I don't know if I can give myself a letter grade," Williams said after the 33-25 win. "I think, ya know, obviously each week you have to look at the things you can work on. I think there's been a lot of good things, I think there's a lot of things I can work on. Overall, I mean, I'm happy with generally the way I've been playing."

In a week that didn't see many victorious Crimson Tide alumni, Williams helped Joe Burrow and the Bengals capture its first win after three weeks of heartbreaking defeats (and a tie.) With the Baltimore Ravens intimidating defense on deck, Williams will have another challenge to prove his worth as a rising talent at left tackle.

And now for this week's honorable mentions:

  • Marlon Humphrey, Ravens - Nine tackles, one pass defense and one forced fumble
  • Jerry Jeudy, Broncos - Two receptions, 61 yards and his first NFL touchdown
  • Amari Cooper, Cowboys - 12 receptions, 134 yards and a thouchdown
  • Damien Harris, Patriots - 17 carries for 100 yards in his first NFL start
