Maddox: ‘We Are About to Face the Most Pivotal Two Weeks in Tuscaloosa’s History’
In a candid interview with The Steve Shannon Morning Show, Mayor Walt Maddox said we are facing “the most pivotal 2 weeks in Tuscaloosa’s history" as the City of Tuscaloosa prepares for the continued spread of the novel Coronavirus.
The mayor asked for and received State of Emergency power to implement restrictions, most of which would be directed at bars and restaurants. Maddox said he would implement these restrictions as soon as possible and has announced a press conference for 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, August 5th).
The mayor attributed the need for an emergency order to the 25,000 University of Alabama students returning to Tuscaloosa for the start of a new semester.
