Alabama Shakes had a big night at the Grammys, taking home the awards for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical; Best Alternative Music Album; Best Rock Performance; and Best Rock Song. The latter two honors specifically recognized the blues rockers’ excellent Sound & Color single “Don’t Wanna Fight,” so it was only fitting the band gave a jaw-dropping performance of the song.

Opening with frontwoman Brittany Howard’s (who was decked out in a cape worthy of her reign) piercing wail, the five-piece were at their absolute fiercest. Thankfully, it was one of a few moments from the three-hour show that actually had the command to put viewers at home on the edge of their seats. Howard also accepted the award for Best Rock Song on behalf of her bandmates, saying, “[I] never even dreamed of this moment.” The Shakes' four new Grammys are the Alabama-hailing outfit's very first. Watch Howard's speech below:
