Tuscaloosa Honors Fallen Officer Dornell Cousette
The Tuscaloosa community came together Thursday night to honor fallen Tuscaloosa officer Dornell Cousette. A special candlelight vigil ceremony was held at Government Plaza in memory of Cousette with words from family members, coworkers ,and community associates in Tuscaloosa.
Earlier this week, The University of Alabama honored Cousette with illuminated in blue lights for the slain officer. Also, parked on the walk of fame was Cousette's police vehicle with a message board filled with kind words surrounded by flowers. In the center of the board was scripture Matthew 5:9 KJV "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon at the Gymnasium of the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College and will be officiated by Pastor Dr. Herman Peters. The Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Aliceville, Ala. with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations.
