Tuscaloosa Group Handpicked to Open for Bon Jovi in Birmingham
Alabama’s Sweet Tea Trio, has been chosen by legendary rock band, Bon Jovi, to be the opener for their upcoming concert at the BJCC in Birmingham, February 16th.
The country trio was chosen after submitting a video performance from one of their recent shows. The nationwide contest, organized by Live Nation, was a search to find an opening act for each date on Bon Jovi’s “This House is Not For Sale” tour. The opportunity was developed as a promotional strategy by Bon Jovi as a means to aid in the advancement of musical careers of unsigned artists.
Sweet Tea Trio is comprised of Savannah Coker of Chelsea, Kate Falcon of Gadsden, and Victoria Camp from Tuscaloosa. They're scheduled to release their EP this Spring and have been recognized as Alabama’s Country Female Artist of the Year in 2016.
As for Sweet Tea Trio’s perspective on this incredible gift, they say,
For us, being awarded the chance to showcase our original music due to the generosity of Bon Jovi is truly like “Living On A Prayer!”
