Tuscaloosa, Alabama Gym Opens Opens Doors for Flood Victims to Shower for Free
Rain from tropical storm Claudette has caused massive devastation to some West Alabama communities. It's a blessing that area businesses are stepping in to help those in need.
Crunch Fitness in Tuscaloosa has opened its doors to help those affected by floods in West Alabama. Group Fitness Coordinator Virginia White said the location is inviting community members affected by floods to use their showers. Crunch Tuscaloosa has also donated cases of water, Gatorade and snacks to be given to those in need in the community.
"We have opened our doors so the surrounding area of Tuscaloosa can come in and get a shower if they need it. Whatever they need, we're trying to make sure that we are opening our doors to be of assistance."
Virginia lives in Northport and had some damage in her neighborhood. She was grateful that her neighborhood's damage wasn't as bad as those in some of the trailer park homes.
"The least we could do is just give to them and make sure that they at least have some small things to get them through the rest of the week," White Said.
When asked how on they will be keeping their showers open for those in need, Virginia replied, "We would do it as long as they need it."
Crunch Tuscaloosa is located at 3325 McFarland Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. Their open 24 hours so no one has to worry about getting there by a certain time to take a shower.
