Tuscaloosa, Alabama Donates Items For Louisiana Hurricane Ida Victims
There is no doubt that Hurricane Ida caused remarkable damage in Louisiana. Community members in West Alabama are stepping up to help our neighbors in need.
Spiller Furniture & Mattress, in co-operation with Townsquare Media, have teamed up in relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Ida that struck Louisiana.
This week we began hosting live on-site donation collections at Spiller furniture locations across Tuscaloosa and Northport. Hurricane Ida victims in Louisiana have been without power for almost two weeks. We're doing all we can to help those in need and we have a list of supplies needed.

Spiller Furniture representative Rob Moore told me exactly what area in Louisiana the donations would be going to. "It's about 20 miles southwest of Hammond."
While at Spiller Furniture, I decided to donate a few items myself. I didn't feel right asking listeners to donate and if I wasn't willing to spend my own money. I originally intended on getting a gas can and some toilet paper. As I walked past the diapers, I thought about being a new parent and having to go through this hurricane. To have nothing for your baby is something no parent should have to go through.
I started off buying a few packs of diapers, then I grabbed some wipes, canned meat, canned beans, and before you know it the cart was close to full. It felt good to be able to give to those in need when they need it the most.
There's still time for you to donate. You can stop by one of Spiller Furniture's 13 store locations.
