The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the eastern half of Alabama, stretching as far north as Gadsden. 

West Alabama will also feel the effects of Irma, as wind gusts of up to 30 MPH are possible along with heavy rainfall. Take a look at the forecast graphic above from the NWS for more information.

Irma is expected to impact much of the southeastern United States. The latest forecast trajectory for the hurricane shows landfall made along the Florida Gulf Coast and moving northward before becoming a tropical depression over Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Missouri.
