Time Warp Tuesday: Meg’s Tracks for February 19, 2019
Your girl just got back from Cozumel, and the only thing that can help me acclimate to daily life once again is... you guessed it: Time Warp Tuesday.
Special Needs/Placebo
This song came up on my shuffle en route to Mobile Thursday. It had been a hot minute since I'd listened to some Placebo, and let me tell you: I am still VERY MUCH here for this band.
Idioteque/Radiohead
Why does this song pop into my head whenever I am a) standing in a large crowd or b) thinking about the current political climate?
There is a Light That Never Goes Out/ The Smiths
Fun fact: if you ever go out drinking with me, there is a 78% chance I will sing this song at some point.
E-Pro/Beck
Beck is touring with Cage the Elephant this summer, which is awesome and also a bit of a trip for me. I went to college with the dudes from Cage the Elephant, and I can remember waaay back in the day (when the band was known as Perfect Confusion) when they'd cover this Beck track at shows.
The Killing Moon/ Echo and the Bunnymen
Stupid band name? Yes. Sexy song? You'd better believe it.
Here's Where the Story Ends/ The Sundays
This is an extremely depressing song, so you know I am into it. Also: remember The Sundays' cover of "Wild Horses" and how it was a pivotal part of that Reese Witherspoon/Mark Whahlberg movie? Good times.
So Real/ Jeff Buckley
There is an entire generation that hasn't listened to a single Jeff Buckley song. I cannot abide this, so here's one of my favorites.
