After making the difficult decision to cancel the Tuscaloosa Mayor's Cup for the past two years due to Covid concerns, Mayor Maddox and his team are ready to go this year!

This year's 5K for Pre-K will be held on Saturday, April 30 in Downtown Tuscaloosa. As always, the race is a fundraiser for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative.

Mayor Walt Maddox said,

The Mayor’s Cup is one of the most rewarding events I have been a part of as your mayor. It brings the community together, united in health and wellness, while supporting our children.

Since the inaugural Mayor’s Cup in 2007, we've raised almost $325,000 to provide resources for preschoolers throughout the Tuscaloosa area. The Mayor's Cup is a simple, fun way for the entire community to get together and get involved in supporting education.

The Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative is important to the educational growth in our community. Pre-k students are not only more prepared for kindergarten, but they also have higher rates of success throughout school.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you on April 30.
