The Song That Changed My Life, Vol.45
Two Worlds Colliding, at it's finest.
At the age of 17, I really started getting into some Temple of The Dog and old-school Soundgarden. Didn't know much about the lead singer, or anyone in the band but I knew that they made a good sound and it was fun to listen to. At the same time, I was forced listening to my dads music -- Led Zep, ACDC, English Beat and Cat Stevens. Out of all the music he played, I was a sucker for ACDC and Cat Stevens.
I know I've done a music biopic on Cat Stevens already but it's a bit different today.
I was scanning the internet maybe a few weeks ago and found an absolute gem of a collaboration. On October 6th, 2016 -- Cat Stevens kicked off his first tour in nearly 30 or 40 years. It was a big deal for the "Cat Heads" out there. In the middle of his set he welcomed the legendary singer from Soundgarden and Temple of The Dog, Chris Cornell.
What happened that night was so freaking amazing. Two completely different styles meshing in a melodically beautiful tone. Old meets new at its finest.
Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you wanna start something new
And it's breakin' my heart you're leavin'
Baby, I'm grievin'
But if you wanna leave, take good care
I hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there
