Some songs just remind you of summer. Like any Grease song or any Black Eye Peas song.

For a song to be considered a 'summer-y' song for me there needs 5 things:

  1. Chill mono-tone beat.
  2. Strings of any-kind.
  3. Lyrics that don't need o make complete sense.
  4. Little jazz-hop beat.
  5. Total blend of scales.

With summer being on us, I have to tell you about my last years 'summer song' that got me through some insanity. We all know the group, but do we know this mysterious song? Maybe.

The Gorillaz's are a British virtual band created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn (who was the front man of Blur)  and artist Jamie Hewlett. The band primarily consists of four animated members: Stuart "2-D" Pot, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. Their fictional universe is presented in music videos, interviews and short cartoons. In reality, Albarn is the only permanent musical contributor, and he often collaborates with other musicians. Remi Kabaka Jr. became producer for the band in 2016 after several years providing the voice of Russel Hobbs and was listed as an official member.

The song I'm bringing to the table is chill, fun and really weird..and that's why I really like it. Song's don't really need to make sense to be a lovable track.

I'm the lonely twin, the left hand
Reset myself and get back on track
I don't want this isolation
See the state I'm in now?
Callin' the hunter with a rifle
'Cause right now that's the ball where we be chained
Shoot it true
I want you in the picture
That's why I'm calling you (calling you)
