‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer: The Dawn of Justice in Brick Form
Everyone who goes to see Batman vs. Superman this weekend is going to get an extra treat: a first look at the new Batman movie. No, not Batfleck, the real Batman. LEGO Batman. But, if you absolutely, positively can’t wait until you see it in the theaters, you can watch The LEGO Batman Movie trailer right now.
If you’re excited to see the Justice League finally come together in a movie, you don’t have to wait until Justice League, Part 1, because you’ll see Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Arrow all come together in The LEGO Batman Movie. While the trailer doesn’t give away too much about the film’s plot (we mostly see the mundane world of Batman’s life, like heating up dinner in the microwave), the official synopsis tells us a little bit more about what to expect.
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
In addition to Will Arnett as Batman, the film will also star Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Michael Cera as Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon and Mariah Carey as the Mayor of Gotham. Presumably Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Cobie Smulders will return to reprise their The LEGO Movie roles as Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman, respectively.
If you look closely in this trailer, you can also see some of Batman’s additional costumes including Batman Beyond, Arctic Bat, Com-Bat, Buccaneer Bat, Prima Donna Bat and Disco Bat. Below, you can find a gallery of photos from the film, to explore the LEGO Batman universe a little further.
The LEGO Batman Movie opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
