The Alabama Crimson Tide is potentially set to have its first No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick since 1948 in left tackle Evan Neal. As a prospect who's destined to be taken highly in April's draft, he's decided to forgo participating in the NFL Scouting Combine drills.
The story of the week was the mismatch Alabama's O-line had taking on the dominant Georgia defense. It looked like they may not be able to overcome the talent of Georgia's defensive front seven. Instead, the story was flipped and this game was won up front where the Crimson Tide offensive line took the challenge head on and gave Heisman candidate quarterback Young time to shine.
Three Alabama players were selected by the Associated Press to its midseason All-American team, quarterback Bryce Young, left tackle Evan Neal and outside linebacker Will Anderson, the most selections of any school.
The Football Writers Association of America has announced the candidates on the Outland Trophy Watch List and the Crimson Tide has two players representing the Tide. The Outland trophy has been given out since 1946 to recognize the top interior lineman in college football.
