Suspect in 2018 Killing Robs Man at Gunpoint, Threatens to Shoot Him

A Tuscaloosa woman charged with manslaughter for a 2018 shooting and a Moundville man have both been charged with first-degree robbery after they allegedly held a man at gun and knifepoint, stole his wallet and talked about shooting him before fleeing the scene.

In court documents filed last week, Moundville Police officers said the suspect, 25-year-old Alexandria Joann Stephens, asked the victim to drive her to Moundville so she could see her brother on the afternoon of May 29th.

During the drive, Stephens allegedly asked to stop so she could buy drugs and had the victim drive to an abandoned trailer, where two men were waiting for them.

Police say Stephens then drew a .380 caliber handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding his wallet. At first, the victim refused to hand it over. According to the deposition, Stephens then fired a shot in his direction and one of the men who had been waiting at the trailer held a knife to the victim's neck and took his wallet and the $500 cash within.

Stephens then reportedly asked the men if she should shoot the victim before the three of them got in a car and left the man who drove her to Moundville alone without his wallet.

The victim contacted police and was able to identify Stephens out of a photo line-up, and when police arrested her, they searched her phone and found messages back and forth between Stephens and Jeriah Keeric Jimerson minutes before the robbery.

Court documents say officers found Jimerson, who admitted setting up the meeting and being present at the robbery. Jimerson was allegedly carrying a knife when police interviewed him.

Stephens and Jimerson were both charged with first-degree robbery and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Stephens remained there Monday morning, but Jimerson is out on bond and his mugshot was not available.
