Weather Update For Wednesday, December 11, 2019

Yesterday was such a gloomy and rain-soaked day, so we deserve a nice day.  Today, there will be drier conditions with sunny skies and a high near 53, with North winds up to 10 mph.  Tonight, you can expect clear conditions with a low around 35 and with patchy fog after 3 am.  Thursday, there will be patchy fog before 8 am, increasing clouds with showers in the afternoon with a high near 56 along with wind gusts up to 20 mph.  Showers stick around Thursday evening with a low around 44 with cloudy conditions.  It looks like the next few days will be filled with the chance of showers with some light rain for early Saturday.

Weather Headlines

Yesterday for Northern Alabama, the snow amounts brought in between ½ inch to 1 inch of snow to grassy areas.

There is an arctic blast hitting the South and East, where it dropped temperatures by 30 degrees for some cities.

Near Des Moines, Iowa, there was a massive 50 car pileup on Interstate 80.  According to the Weather Channel, “the crash scene stretched almost a quarter of a mile.”
