Tropical Storm Delta is brewing in the Gulf of Mexico and is expecting to make landfall on Thursday night or early Friday morning. Delta could be a Category 1 or 2 hurricane when it does reach landfall. Due to the poor weather conditions, many West Alabama high school games have been moved from Friday, Oct. 10 to Thursday Oct. 9.

The 7A-Region 3 game between Tuscaloosa County High and Oak Mountain has been moved up a day. The Wildcats are 1-3 in the region and the Eagles are 3-1. This is a huge game for both schools as they come down the stretch of region play.

Selma and Central were scheduled to play a class 5A-Region 3 contest but it has now been moved to Thursday night to avoid the potential bad weather. The Falcons are 1-3 and the Saints are 3-0. Central and Selma are going in opposite directions in the season but perhaps the Falcons can get back on track in the region.

Curry was scheduled to take on Northside in a class 4A-Region 5 game on Friday. The Rams will now play the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night instead. The Yellow Jackets have not won a game this year, the Rams are 3-1 in the region and playing for playoff seeding.

The threat of bad weather is immanent and more games could be moved to Thursday. There is already discussion about whether to move the Thomasville vs. Hale County game.
