Watching Stephen Colbert's hysterical fill-in role for a public access cable TV show sure does appear to give insight of things to come with The Late Show.

Stephen Colbert opens the show by explaining how he has been itchy to get back to hosting a TV show, but the theater isn't ready yet. What's the next best thing for him, host this local show for tiny town called Monroe in Michigan. The show, 'Only In Monroe.'

We all know the low budget sets that shows like this may have, including the fake plants. There lies the comedy, as Colbert repeatedly pretends to water the fake plants. That's just really funny to me. Especially, with the straight-faced demeanor in which he does so.

Plenty of greatness happens with guests and topics, none better than the final guest, Eminem. Colbert plays off not knowing the recording star. He tests Eminem's knowledge of Bob Seger songs.

Colbert then quizzes Eminem on his music, "What kind of rap do you do? Are you like, sort of sing-songy rap like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony or are you more street, like Will Smith?" Eminem says, "Middle probably." This starts up a test on who would break their straight face first and laugh. The exchange was one for the ages.

This public access show 'Only In Monroe' is 40 minutes long. You'd swear it was more like 15 minutes from how entertaining it is, you'll find yourself wanting more. If this serves as a preview of things to come with The Late Show on CBS, I'll be there!

Here's the video. Enjoy!
