Plenty of people were on edge going into the 2014 running of the Boston Marathon. In the end, it was sportsmanship which shined and that's a pretty nice thing to hear.

Here are few heart warming marathon photos I've come across today (April 21st). The motto for the past year has been "Boston Strong" and it was today, as this most traditional race continued!

This photo features Marathon bombing survivor Adrianne Haslet-Davis who lost her leg last year, proudly crosses the finish line today.

Monday’s Boston Marathon was the last for father and son team Dick and Rick Hoyt. The two had planned 2013 would be their last but after the bombings, they vowed to be back for one more. It was the 32nd marathon for the team.

Running a marathon, a distance of 26.2 miles, is a tremendous test of endurance. Imagine being in sight of the finish line and your body is so extremely exhausted that it can't take anymore as your legs give out. This another photo I love from the day, other runners helping to carry a guy across the finish line.
