Road work in Tuscaloosa has become much more than a minor inconvenience to many downtown stores and restaurants.  The current project to widen Lurleen Wallace Boulevard has caused a decline in customers, and this is hurting the bottom line of small business owners.

Paces like Frutta Bowls, O'Henry's Coffee, and Jimmy John's have all been affected by the current construction. I know that getting to these places is all but impossible these days, but it's still possible to park in one spot and walk over to patronize these spots.

If we all make an attempt to visit these restaurants and businesses, we'll ensure that they'll still be a part of the Tuscaloosa scene after the roadwork is finished--whenever that may be.
