Severe storms are possible throughout much of Alabama tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning. Most of our listening area has been placed under an elevated threat area for this storm system, and threats from this severe weather include damaging winds of up to 70 mph, quarter size hail, and tornadoes. Note that areas south of Tuscaloosa County are included in a significant threat area--the NWS forecast includes the possibility of strong tornadoes and golf ball size hail. Northern portions of the state are at risk for severe weather as well.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham's latest forecast suggests that a squall line of storms will move through the state tomorrow afternoon, and a few individual storm cells could develop ahead of the main line as early as 4 p.m. The storm system will move west across the state, reaching the eastern Alabama counties by 4 a.m. Tuesday.
