September 16th Is Working Parents Day! Here's What It's All About

As a new parent, I'm being exposed to a lot of things that I never heard of prior to having a baby. After being on this Earth for over 30 years, I'm just learning about Working Parents Day!

The job of a parent is often overlooked. Especially the fully involved parent who works daily t make ends meet makes sure their kids have the needed money for school trips, extracurricular activities, and don't even get me started on holidays. It's truly a lot to handle and many parents make it look easy.

Working Parents Day is an opportunity for those hard-working parents to be shown some appreciation from their kids. This is when the kids usually try to take some of the load off of the parents. It could be by doing laundry, cooking dinner, or paying a bill if old enough. I'm sure any hard-working parent would appreciate even the smallest gesture of appreciation from their kids.

I remember when I first started working as a teenager, I used to try and do something for my parents every other paycheck. I had no real bills, and I was always at work so the money was flowing. The holidays were my favorite! I'd literally go on shopping sprees for my family. I guess that was how I celebrated Working Parents Day. Lol

So now that you know what Working Parents Day is, be sure to let your kids know about this special day. You can also take the time to do something for your parents or guardians on this day. Even if they aren't here, you could write them a letter of something you always wanted to share with them or how much you appreciate all they've done for you throughout your life.
