SCLC to Host Resistance Rally at Government Plaza This Evening
This evening, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference will host a Resistance Rally at Government Plaza.
The event, which begins at 6pm and is planned to run for one hour, has a theme of standing against hate, bigotry, and violence.
All individuals, groups, churches, and organizations who agree are invited to take part in the gathering.
According to SCLC Tuscaloosa Chapter President Tyshawn Gardner, a number of grassroots community groups will present unity statements, statements indicative of a resistance to supremacy, and a component aimed at stopping violence. The event will include a unity prayer, a prayer for justice and reconciliation, and a Litany affirming the sacredness of all humanity in addition to a short speech by Rev. Gardner.
