School and Business Closings for Friday, January 22, 2016

A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016; schools and businesses are closing early in anticipation of the winter weather.

Our list of closings is below; we'll be updating throughout the day as other closings are announced.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS

Birmingham City Schools: All after school activities and after school care cancelled.
Bessemer City Schools: Elementary and Middle Schools dismissing at 12:30 p.m.; High Schools dismissing at 1 p.m.
Fairfield City Schools: Elementary and Middle Schools dismissing at 12:30 p.m.; High Schools dismissing at 1 p.m.
Fayette County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Fayette Christian School is dismissing at 12:30 p.m.
Greene County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Haleyville City Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Hoover City Schools are dismissing on the following schedule: Elementary at 2:15 p.m, Middle at 2:45 p.m., High School at 3 p.m.
Jasper City Schools are dismissing at 12:30 p.m.
Jefferson County Schools are dismissing at 1 p.m.
Lamar County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Miles College in Birmingham will close at 2 p.m.
Marion County Schools are dismissing at 11 a.m.
Pickens County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Sumiton Christian School is dismissing at 12 p.m.
Tarrant City Schools: Elementary and Intermediate dismissing at 12:30 p.m, High School dismissing at 1:15 p.m.
Vestavia Hills City Schools are dismissing 30 minutes early.
Walker County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
Winfield City Schools are dismissing at 11 a.m.
Winston County Schools are dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
