The Salvation Army is offering its social support services to the community during this time of crisis.

To abide by the stay-at-home order issued by Governor Kay Ivey Friday, the Salvation Army will now offer its services by appointment only. Thrift stores will remain closed until the order is lifted.

The shelter has separate wings to accommodate men, women, families, and veterans, but it is currently at capacity. The Salvation Army is now providing lunch for its residents due to the mandate hours.

The shelter needs financial support and hand sanitizer. To support the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the Salvation Army, visit salvationarmyalm.org/give or call Major Bill Shafer at (205) 553-1600.
