Rejoice Because It Is National Drink Wine Day

What?  Today is National Drink Wine Day, well… Please, and Thank You!  According to National Drink Wine Day, “The purpose of National Drink Wine Day is to spread the love and health benefits of wine.  Wine has played an important role in history, religion and relationships.  We embrace the positive benefits of wine such as new friends, reduced risk of heart disease and the enhancement of food and life.”  I am here for all of that!

A great place to check out wines locally is at Carpe Vineo at 515 Greensboro Ave in Tuscaloosa where they note to "come sit down. chat. try something from our ever-changing glass menu."  Sounds like my kinda place!

My favorite wine is sweet wines and wine aficionados always tell me that it is not “real wine.”  According to Wine Enthusiast, a good wine for beginners is “that any wine you like is a good wine. This is true if simply enjoying wine is your goal. You don’t have to do more than take a sip, give it a swallow and let your inner geek decide “yes” or “no.” The end.”  Listen, I have friends that like the range of wines from Cabernet Sauvignon to Riesling, Chardonnay to Pinot Noir, and the list goes on and one.  I did find that the Wine Folly does a great job explaining all the different kinds of wines.  So, on this national holiday, you can try something new or stick to your favorite wine.
