Record Heat Continues This Week

Not much change for this week in West Alabama as we will still experience above-average temperatures.  The mantra for this week is the record heat continues. Yesterday, Tuscaloosa had a recorded high of 96 which tied the 1986 previous record.  Today, there will be sunny skies with a high near 97 with clear skies tonight and a low near 71.  There is a small chance for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms this week.  September 2019 will be the second warmest in Alabama weather history.  However, there is some relief in sight.  By this weekend the heat levels will range in the 80’s and further cooling for next week.

To give more of a perspective of the weather differences, in Portland the high yesterday was 49 degrees.  This was an all-time record low since the 145 years of record keeping.
