Police Chase On The University Of Alabama Campus Results In Crash

A speeding pickup resulted in a chase through the Campus area last night.

An officer working on the Strip last evening around 11:30 noticed a GMC pickup Speeding on University Blvd and Then onto Red Drew Av.

The officer followed the truck and attempted to stop the driver at 12th St and 12th Av. The driver refused to stop and crashed into a fence of an apartment complex on 12th St. near 6th Av.

The officer saw the driver and passenger switch seats before the crash and while the truck was still moving.

Both occupants were charged with DUI.

The initial driver was also charged with attempt to elude and possession of a controlled substance.
