NWS Hosts Central Alabama Winter Weather Facebook Photo Contest

I have a love-hate relationship with winter weather. The love part is the picturesque snowfalls. The hate part is anything related to ice.  Seriously, I’ll chase a tornado before I walk, drive, or do anything when it comes to ice.

Over the years, I have captured some extraordinary Alabama snowfalls. In addition to the mandatory picture of writing the word “SNOW” on your car. If you have some winter weather pictures, you might want to head over to the National Weather Service Birmingham Facebook page. They are hosting a Facebook cover photo contest, which ends Friday, January 8, 2021, at 11:59 pm.

Go ahead and start looking for your winter weather snapshots. So you can have some bragging rights with your family and friends. Check your digital photo albums for your favorite backyard winter weather photo! Here are the details and rules from the Facebook page of the National Weather Service Birmingham.

1) All photos must be winter weather-related and occur within Central Alabama. No inappropriate photos, please.

2) Photos must be your own! (Photos taken by others, overly photo-shopped images, and copyrighted photos by others will not be accepted.)

3) Include location & date of the photo.

4) You must provide us with permission to re-post and use your photo.

The deadline to submit your photo is 11:59 PM CST Friday, January 8th. The winning photo will become our FB cover photo for the month of January!
