Northport Man Charged in 20 Car Break-Ins Around Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa Police have charged a 38-year-old Northport man with 20 counts of burglarizing an automobile after investigators tied him to a string of car break-ins all around Tuscaloosa.

Lt. Teena Richardson, a TPD spokeswoman, said James Earl Noland was arrested on July 1st and charged with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

Investigators continued to dig, and Richardson said they found cause to charge him with 20 counts of burglary from an automobile, along with charges for giving a false name to law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance.

Richardson said Noland has been connected to automotive burglaries on Skyland Boulevard, Veteran's Memorial Parkway, Jug Factory Road, Oscar Baxter Drive, Courtney Drive and McFarland Boulevard.

At the time of his arrest, Noland was out on probation for an auto burglary that occurred in Tuscaloosa in December 2017, Richardson said.
