Nick Saban took the podium following the first practice of fall camp and said the team fought through the hot day well. The head coach spoke for about 15 minutes and touched on a number of topics.

During his opening comments, Saban updated the injuries on the team and identified a handful of players that won't be out at practice for another couple weeks.

The Crimson Tide has some questions marks heading into the 2016 season, but there's no question that the talent in Tuscaloosa is as good or better than any other program in college football. That's been the case for a few years in Tuscaloosa, and Saban made it clear that this team has to create it's own identity to be successful.

The other big storyline surrounding the Alabama program is defensive back Maurice Smith's transfer. Saban addressed that as well.
