Nick Saban Shuns Strippers While Coaching Miami Dolphins
Nick Saban has been the standard bearer of football coaches over the course of his career. He has shown his players how to excel both on and off the football field. Perhaps one of the biggest lessons Saban has taught those who pay attention to the Goat is loyalty.
Saban has been fiercely loyal to his wife Terry Saban since they began dating as high school sweethearts. This loyalty was put on display when then Dolphins rookie Channing Crowder allegedly invited exotic dancers into the facility for his rookie show.
"I brought strippers into the Dolphin's facility. She walked in with nothing but a thong on and a Jason Taylor jersey and she went up there and Nick Saban was on his chair and she went up there and shook it for Nick Saban and Nick Saban grabbed her hips and moved her to the side and ran up the stairs," said Crowder.
Crowder was drafted in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft by Saban. The now Alabama head coach only served two years with the Miami Dolphins after turning in a disappointing 6-10 season in his second year.
Crowder ultimately played six years in the NFL all for the Dolphins. He accumulated 470 tackles over the course of his career and made one playoff appearance.
The story emerged out of the latest edition of The Pivot Podcast. The hosts, Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder welcomed JaMarcus Russell onto this week's episode. All three players played under Saban either at LSU or with the Miami Dolphins.
If Crowder was looking to tempt Saban into stepping out on his marriage, it is important to remember the goat's philosophy on women. He famously encouraged his players to avoid sleeping with women who have more to lose than they do. Alabama's coach has been clear that the only woman he'd consider cheating on Miss Terry with is Hillary Clinton.
