Tuscaloosa radio ratings, released from Nielsen Audio, Thursday (July 21) showed big success for long-time Tuscaloosa personalities, as well as some more recent stars.

Late last year, the long-running Steve & DC morning show reuinted on WFFN-FM

(95.3 The Bear) after nearly 20 years at 102.5 FM and 94.1 FM.

We'll look at mornings in just a moment, but first,

-All day from 6a-12a Mon-Fri with all Persons 12 and older, WTUG-FM (92.9 WTUG) is No.1 with a 12.6 rating,

WTSK-AM (Praise 93.3) next at 7.2,

WFFN-FM (95.3 The Bear) at No. 3 (tie) with a 5.4

WALJ-FM (105.1 The Block) also at No. 3 (tie) with a 5.4  

WTXT-FM (98 WTXT) at No. 5 with a 4.2.

In the mornings, Steve & DC on WFFN-FM and Steve Harvey on WTUG-FM, find themselves running away with the morning audience in West Alabama.

The two morning shows are in the No. 1 or No. 2 ranking in every major demographic. Including

Adults 18 to 34,

18 to 49 and 25 to 54

as well as Men and Women 18 to 34, 18 to 49 and 25 to 54..

In the head-to-head country morning battle, between Steve & DC on WFFN-FM and The Bobby Bones Show on WTXT-FM.

Steve & DC have a significant audience size advantage over Bobby Bones.

WFFN has a near-double 6.1-3.5 advantage Adults 25 to 54, and similar gaps with Adults 18 to 34 and 18 to 49.

Clearly, Steve & DC own the country audience in West Alabama during the morning hours.

In afternoon drive (3-7pm) WALJ-FM (105.1 The Block) is dominant with the younger end of the demographics.

The hit  Big Dawg Dre Day, is a solid No.1 with Adults 18 to 34 by a big margin.

Mary K. and her popular afternoon show is tied for No. 1, Adults 18 to 49, with The Big Dawg Dre Day on WALJ-FM.

While Mary K. is ranked No. 1 in the important Adults 25 to 54 demographic, WALJ-FM is No. 2 and Wild Bill on WFFN-FM is No. 3.

In the overall, all-day, race for ears among Adults 25 to 54, WTUG-FM is No. 1.

Next up is WFFN-FM in a tie for No. 2 with WALJ-FM. In the No. 4 spot WRTR-FM (Talk Radio 105.9) finds itself tied with WTXT-FM for Adults 25 to 54 from 6a-Midnight.

In the Adults 18 to 34 demographic, all-day, WFFN-FM, WTUG-FM and WALJ-FM are all tied for the No. 1 rank. WQRR-FM (Alt 101.7) and WTXT-FM are tied for No. 4.

The latest Nielsen Audio figures cover March 31-June 22.
