You Can Help Families in Tuscaloosa, Alabama by Donating Diapers
I recently purchased some diapers for a diaper baby shower and couldn’t believe the cost. Honest moment, I didn’t realize the cost of diapers. That’s why nonprofit organizations like the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank are so important for the community.
This summer, I had a chance to catch up with Danielle Edison, founder of the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank. I learned that Edison witnessed her own need for diaper assistance and then started the nonprofit after the birth of her last child.
This nonprofit organization that was founded in 2016 serves families directly. Their “goal is to help alleviate some of the pressure on families who struggle with having an adequate supply of diapers and baby essentials.”
What is “diaper need”?
The Bottoms Up Diaper Banks this need by “not having a sufficient & adequate supply of diapers in order to keep babies dry and healthy. Not having a sufficient supply of diapers can lead to financial, emotional, and health issues. Not having a sufficient supply of diapers not only impacts the baby, it impacts the entire family.”
What is “National Diaper Need Awareness Week”?
“National Diaper Need Awareness Week was started in 2012 by the National Diaper Bank Network as an initiative to bring awareness to diaper need in our country.” The week is quickly approaching. It is September 27, 2021, to October 3, 2021, and the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank needs your help.
