The 10th Annual Nucor Holt 5K delivered on its promise on having a gallery of merchandise and other gifts as door prizes. But, what I won may be a sign.

It was great to see the nice turnout for early morning August run which features 'the hill.'

Yes, that photo above shows an eager bunch to hit the road! More importantly, take on the on hill up Alabama Avenue from Holt Road to Holt High School. That must be about 1 mile of all UP! I mean, UP!

What makes the challenge of this hill even more lucrative, the bout of climbing up this sucker with a soaking layer of humidity. Finishing it gives you a badge of honor. It sure was funny to hear everyone talking about it at the finish line. Haha.

I actually placed third in my age group, an accomplishment which comes with a really cool Holt Ironmen trophy!

The post-race comes with door prizes galore! I think everyone ends up walking out with something. What I ended up winning made wonder if it was some kind of sign! It was the end of door prizes, and I began to think the unthinkable no prize for me. But, then my number gets called out!

What did I win? A gift certificate to go towards a Road ID bracelet, a dog tag for runners. It is now the second Road ID gift certificate that I've won. Hmm. What do you think, a sign?
