My daughter had her first formal pictures taken with Santa Claus, and they are amazing. Please stop whatever you're doing and marvel at them with me.

I had surgery last week (bummer), so I have been out of commission. My daughter, Dolly, went to stay with my mother-in-law for a few days while I was in the hospital. I'd asked my mother-in-law (who is amazing and just the best, BTW) to take Dolly to have her photos made with Santa Claus.

I had no idea how Dolly would react to seeing Santa. I didn't know if she'd be giddy and giggly or if she'd be one of those kids who is TERRIFIED of Santa and screams the entire time she's on his lap. Judging from the pics, I'd say she was pretty chill about meeting Saint Nick.

I'm happy I have a photo like the one above to frame and save as a treasured keepsake... I am also thrilled to have photos like the ones that follow.

Look at how awkward and awesome this is. Santa appears to be caught napping while my daughter is attempting to break free from his grasp--she is also blowing raspberries.

HA. Her expression is killing me here. And she is 100% blowing raspberries. This is GOLD.

Let's take a look at the rest of Dolly's North Pole Photo Shoot, shall we?

OH.

MY.

RUDOLPH.

This is The Greatest Holiday Photo of All Time. Dolores looks like a tiny Wednesday Addams; she's not in to this holly jolly hoopla in any shape or form. You really need to see her face up close to appreciate it.

THAT POUT. She's so over it! She is dishing out a heaping helping of seasonal SHADE.

I asked my mother-in-law what was going on when this photo was taken, and apparently a little boy waiting in line started crying--which resulted in a distressed Dolly. At any rate, this is definitely a keeper. Her expression is priceless. (BTW, this is the same face she makes when she wants something; yes, she always gets her way.)

This is another precious pic. She's not smiling, but it's still cute. I'm probably blinded by my bias, but she really is the cutest child I have ever seen.

Have your kids had a chance to visit Jolly Old Saint Nicholas yet? How did their pics turn out? Share them with me--especially if they involve screaming babies and temperamental toddlers (those pics are the best!)

If you haven't had a chance to take your children or grandchildren to see Santa yet, there is still plenty of time. Check out when and where you can have pics taken with Santa--just CLICK HERE.
