My Chemical Romance Reunite, Announce Comeback Show
The My Chemical Romance reunion is finally here. This is real. Do not remain calm. After over six years on hiatus, MCR announced today via Twitter that they are returning for a show on Dec. 20 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, Calif.
See the tweet making the announcement below.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday Nov. 1, at 12N PT and you can purchase tickets here.
The band first changed their profile image on socials to a candle and a new Instagram page popped up and began posting stories, which you can see screenshots of toward the bottom of this post.
Fans have been hoping for a reunion between vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Frank Iero and Ray Toro pretty much since the fateful day the band announced they would be calling it quits back in March 2013.
Earlier this year, a comment from a Jonas brother, of all people, rekindled fans hopes of a possible comeback. While appearing on the KISS Breakfast show with KISS FM in the U.K., Joe Jonas claimed that MCR were rehearsing next to them in New York.
That led to guitarist Frank Iero hilariously refuting the claim and roasting the “Disney band” in the process.
There have been plenty of false alarms through the years and various members of the band have refuted them many times before. Seriously, they have been asked about a reunion more times than we can count.
Perhaps the most notable was back in 2016 when the band dropped a cryptic teaser that turned out to be for the announcement of their 10th anniversary reissue The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts.
While active, My Chemical Romance released four full-length albums, the last being Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys in 2010. Check out some little known facts about The Black Parade, which just celebrated its 13th anniversary earlier this month.
