Monday Mid-Day Hurricane Dorian Update

According to the National Hurricane Center from their report from 10 a.m. (EDT) is that Dorian is sitting over Grand Bahama Island with extremely dangerous winds and storm surges.

The expectation is that the east coast of Florida will experience storm surges and dangerous hurricane-force winds.  Also, there is great potential for the coastlines of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina to receive strong winds and dangerous storm surge.  Dorian has basically stalled moving only one mph and is still projected to have a gradual turn to the northwest and then north.  But, at this point there is still uncertainty in the track, so officials are urging those in the possible path to be prepared.

Dorian attacked the Bahama’s as a category five hurricane.  The devastation in the Bahama’s is heartbreaking.  Homes were destroyed that left residents homeless, rapid flooding, and lack of communication resources.

I’ll keep you updated as Dorian moves dangerously close to the Florida coastline.  - @MaryKRadio
