Mike Shinoda Recalls Linkin Park’s Hilarious Prank on Metallica
Can you imagine pranking Metallica? On Sirius XM's Turbo channel, Mike Shinoda revealed that Linkin Park actually did prank the metal legends - and it was while they were playing. "They were in the middle of - I think it might've actually been 'Master of Puppets' - and we came out with picnic baskets and sandwiches, and [went up on stage] while they were playing [that] song and just had a picnic."
He continued, "Chester was skateboarding back and forth. We were bringing out orange juice and having this little thing, which they thought was hysterical." Unfortunately, we couldn't find any video of the moment, but you can hear Shinoda break it down in an audio excerpt of the interview below.
Shinoda's debut solo album, Post Traumatic, was released in June via Warner Bros. On the one-year anniversary of Chester Bennington's death, the band shared a joint message to the late singer, which read, "It has been a year since your passing—a surreal rotation of grief, heartbreak, refusal, and recognition. And yet it still feels like you are close by, surrounding us with your memory and your light. Your one-of-a-kind spirit has authored an indelible imprint on our hearts—our jokes, our joy, and our tenderness."
