Media Picks Alabama to Win Southeastern Conference in 2017
After a week in Hoover with all 14 Southeastern Conference teams, the media thinks 2017 will end the same way it has each of the past three years.
The SEC released the preseason predictions from the media and the Alabama Crimson Tide was the overwhelming favorite to win the conference championship this fall. If Nick Saban can pull it off, Alabama would become the first school since Florida in the mid-90s to win four straight SEC Championship Games.
The Tide received 217 of the 243 first-place points while Auburn was second with 11 points. There was even a vote cast for Vanderbilt to win the conference.
The more interesting vote was in the eastern division, where Georgia received 42 more first-place votes than Florida to earn the top spot. Tennessee and South Carolina also received votes to win the division.
