Rumors and reports stretching back two months were already positing that a new, young musician had joined the ranks of Marilyn Manson after previous percussionist Gil Sharone left the rock band earlier this year.

That much was confirmed this week when Marilyn Manson revealed their new drummer's identity. On Tuesday (June 18), the act's namesake shock-rocker officially welcomed the musician revealed as Brandon Pertzborn.

"Me and my drummer Brandon Pertzborn," Mr. Manson captioned a photo of himself with the rocker on Twitter. He further set the scene behind the snap on Instagram: "I went to see a film with @strainsofhorror Shayne and my drummer Brandon. @brandonpertzborn," he wrote. See the photo down towards the bottom of this post.

On the new drummer's Instagram account, where he shared the same pic, the Los Angeles-based musician counts "Black Flag, Doyle (from Misfits), Ho99o9 (horror), Suicidal Tendencies, Corey Taylor" among his bio. Blabbermouth reported that the Texas-born, 24-year-old musician had previously filled in for Suicidal Tendencies' Dave Lombardo at a New Jersey show with the recently reunited, original Misfits lineup.

Pertzborn's replaces Sharone, who first joined Marilyn Manson's band in 2013. Sharone performed on the group's latest effort, Heaven Upside Down, as well as 2015's The Pale Emperor. When he left in March, it was on apparently amicable terms, as the drummer described his time in Manson as "one of the highlights of my career."

That presumably means Pertzborn will sit in for at least some sessions related to the band's next studio album, of which Manson previously related he's already finished recording "more than half" of the material required.
