Christmas came early for Mariah Carey fans when the superstar tweeted around midnight on Friday (October 20) that she'd dropped a brand new Christmas song for new film The Star. Watch where you step, "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

The eponymous "The Star" is currently available for purchase via iTunes, and the soundtrack is expected to be available for pre-order on October 27. The Star is an animated film that depicts the religious story of the first Christmas, and Carey's title track follows suit with the singer belting out "Follow that star above you / Should the world try to break you down / There is one who waits for you / Though you can't see him now / Thunder and rain surrounds you / But His love's just a breath away / Follow your heart / Follow the light / Follow that star" during the song's swelling chorus.
