We have had a few weeks of on and off severe weather situations that led to tornado outbreaks. Those communities are still dealing with the devastation. We are currently monitoring a system that could impact our listening areas on Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, a “cold front will move through on Wednesday. At this time, there is a low-end threat for strong damaging winds and large hail for most of Central Alabama between Noon and 9 PM.”

As we witnessed during Sunday’s weather conditions, damaging winds can cause quite a bit of damage as well. Large hail can cause possible damage to a roof, car, windows, crops, and more. Please stay weather aware.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist noted on Facebook that the Storm Prediction Center has “defined a "marginal risk" (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for most of Alabama Wednesday. Thunderstorms will be capable of producing small hail, strong winds, and a brief, isolated tornado or two. While this is not a high end threat like last Thursday, everyone still needs to be weather aware Wednesday and be in a position to hear warnings if they are needed. The sky will clear Wednesday night as colder, drier air arrives.”

I always stress that weather information could change due to many variables, like time ahead of the storm and conditions. Please, during severe weather season, which is until May, stay mindful of the weather.
